Reviews » Rebtel prepaid phone cards

Rebtel is a Swedish communications provider headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. They also have offices in Luxembourg. The company was started in 2006 by entrepreneurs Hjalmar Winbladh and Jonas Lindroth with the goal of offering honestly priced international calling services, according to their website.

How Rebtel works: once you sign up for an account you are given a local phone number you can call (based on your telephone number). You don't have to enter a PIN number since Rebtel will recognize your phone. Once you call the local number you will hear a message telling you to enter the international number you want to call. I just tested this service - the signup process is very easy and call quality is pretty good. One downside may be that local numbers are not available for all cities/towns. Also, dialing local calls is not free in all situations.

For the mobile user - Rebtel provides customized applications for iPhone and Android devices.

We recommend this provider for their high quality calls, honest offers and easy signup process.

Rebtel customer reviews

Failure to recognize number: Very frustrating
I just feel that Rebtel is living in it's past glories. These days, I get "Sorry, we do not recognize this number" 95% of the time I try to use Rebtel. So annoying that I am beginning to look for an alternative service. I just hope that they will let me expend the money I have in my account.

Rebtel good but not transparent
I have also used rebtel whilst the service is good I have noticed that they charge more than they inform you. I bought a £30 recharge but was charged £34.50.

Rebtel is a service I've been using for over a year. I'm not sure why it's included in your calling cards category since it isn't a calling card. I guess it's not important. All I want to say is that their rates are the lowest I could find for international calls and call quality is very very good for me.
