USA is a subsidiary of T-Mobile International AG owned by Deutsche Telekom
- the largest EU telecommunications provider based in Bonn, Germany. With
over 31 million subscribers as of 2008, T-Mobile USA is the 4th largest
wireless provider in the United States. The company is headquartered in
Bellevue, WA.
Technology, roaming and coverage
T-Mobile operates mostly on the 1900 MHz GSM band and has roaming agreements with AT&T and Alltel. Being widely popular in Europe and other parts of the world T-Mobile is also easy to use outside the US. For Internet access T-Mobile uses the GPRS/EDGE technology.

FlexPay
This is an interesting feature from T-Mobile allowing subscribers to choose whether they want to sign a term contract or not. If you do sign a term contract you get a cheap/free phone. If you don't: no free phone, you must pay in advance for the plan you choose...but: no credit check is required, no activation fees.
Family Allowances
This is a helpful feature that can be added to Family plans and it is generally used by parents who want to limit the number of minutes their children use, or block certain numbers, and more.

Unless otherwise stated, T-Mobile plans feature: unlimited Night&Weekend minutes, no extra charges for long distance/roaming, 20¢/min for additional airtime, 20 ¢/text, picture, video or IM message, $1.79/call for Directory Assistance.
